Smartphone devices will usually have a liquid damage indicator (LDI). For the Galaxy Note 5, you can pull out the SIM card tray at the top left of your device. With the tray out, look inside the slot for a small rectangular label. That’s the LDI and it should be white. In case it has turned pink or red that confirms the worst - you phone has sustained liquid damage.
Here are some “first aid” measures you can do in case your phone is drenched from a spill or drop in the tub:
Power off immediately. Liquid is an electronic conductor than can cause short circuits.
Dry off the device with a towel or absorbent cloth. Pat dry.
